Nursing news

As the year draws to a close, it’s important to remember our own health needs – both physical and mental – during this month of thinking of others. With its office parties, family gatherings and public congregations around the tree, the holiday season offers myriad chances to spread cheer. It’s also, however, a great opportunity to spread something else: influenza.  Ways to prevent this spread of infection is to stay home when sick, good hand washing especially this time of the year, and to take extra care to not touch your mouth, eyes, or nose without washing your hands first.  Influenza is very hard on the elderly.  Currently there is no influenza at Wellington but by taking the above precautions we can keep our resident’s healthy.
