Happy New Year to all!  Wellington Place has had a great start to 2021!  With a new year, comes new beginnings.  As I reflect on 2020, and thinking back to March, “This (COVID) will be over soon.”   Well, I was a little off on that! January, deriving from the Latin word Janus, meaning, doorway, archway, which is the perfect symbol for new beginnings.  I think I can speak for all and can’t wait to “begin” our normal ways of living again.  Although most of us have gotten better with technology, nothing is better than being able to see your family in person.

We had a visit from two Walgreen’s pharmacists on December 31, 2020, for our first round of COVID-19 vaccinations!  We are ready for our second round January 21!  They were great to work with and look forward to them coming back.   We are doing everything we can to keep your family safe. I have added a few jokes, as a reminder we all need to stay positive and keep smiling.

-This morning I saw a neighbor talking to her dog. It was obvious she thought her dog understood her. I came into my house and told my cat. We laughed a lot.

-I never thought the comment, “I wouldn’t touch her/him with a 6-foot pole” would become a national policy, but here we are!

-I need to practice social distancing from the refrigerator.

-This virus has done what no woman has been able to do. Cancel sports, shut down bars and keep men at home!

-Every few days try your jeans on just to make sure they fit. Pajamas will have you believe all is well in the kingdom!

Happy New year!  Kelly Deeney, Director of Nursing
