Activities

We enjoyed making May Day baskets on May 1 in the morning and that evening we were lucky to have Annie’s Dancers perform for us. All of the dancers were very good and everyone enjoyed seeing them and their beautiful costumes. The Boy Scouts Troop number 66 came and helped clean up the courtyard on May 7. We really appreciate their support and are enjoying the courtyard and warmer weather. Our new garden club has been busy in the courtyard as well. We celebrated National Skilled Nursing Home Week with a variety of things including a presentation by Kevin Lee on the history of Freeport. The residents made colleges entitled “all about me” and they were displayed in the activity room. It was fun to see what they made and learn more about everyone. We enjoyed a concert with Wires and Wood on Wednesday May 16. On May 17 we had our Resident’s talent show in the activity area. We sure have some amazing talent in our home!

In June the Bible School kids from Decorah Lutheran church will be with us from June 5-8 and we have a lot of fun activities planned. We will go on a fishing trip and picnic to Lake Meyer in mid-June. We have not been  skunked yet so hope our luck continues!! Larry Reis will be telling us all about moths in northeast Iowa on June 19 at 10:00. We have been reading the Little House on the Prairie series in book club and have just started The Long Winter.

If you have a collection you would like to share in our showcase by the front office please see me. The residents really enjoy looking at the collections we have displayed thru out the years.

Have a great summer and stop and see us soon!  Lynn Recreation Program Director
