Greetings from Assisted Living
Happy Spring from Assisted Living,
May has come and it’s nice to see some signs of Spring. May has been filled with lots of music, bingo and many special guests including Kevin Lee who told us about the history of Freeport and the old County Home, Karla Brown who talked about the Vesterheim Museum, and our friend Larry Reis who talked about Iowa Amphibians. We took a wonderful van ride around the town to see the sights. The tenants had a great time! We celebrated Cinco de Mayo with a taco bar, margaritas and creating a Mexican tin art project that turned out really great!
June brings the Father’s Day breakfast on June 15th from 8:00 to 10:00. We will have a drawing for the men for some fun and yummy giveaways. I would like to invite you to bring your kids to paint bird feeders for another fun Father’s Day project. When you are done with your creations, you can take them home to enjoy. If you could email me or call me to let me know that you will be attending it would help me to plan for the day. knordschow@wellingtonplacedecorah.com or 563.379.2395.
In June we will be starting a new activity series called “Life Long Learning.” This month we learn about The Life of Danny O Donnell, Aerial Americas Best Small Towns in America, The Grand Canyon and The Life of Ozzie Orwoll the baseball player and of course plenty of music and bingo.
Until next time, Kelly
