Scott's Desk
As you know this year has been a particularly challenging time. As the ever-changing COVID virus evolved so did the overwhelming pressure on our staff, residents and tenants. Not to mention the stress their loved ones were under with the uncertainty of how safe their loved ones were. Even though we did our best and will continue to do our best in keeping everyone updated on the fluid changes, not being able to walk thru open doors to visit, hold a hand or receive a hug takes a huge toll on everyone. We understand this and are very happy to pass on some of the most recent positive changes in a long time. First, I want to thank all our families for their patience, understanding and kindness in this very difficult year. In addition, I want to thank the staff that tirelessly provide services to all the residents and tenants we serve. These kind compassionate employees have and continue to dedicate themselves to the well-being of all our tenants and residents 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Thank you!
With that being said, we feel the future is bright. We are continuing to schedule indoor visits and will add to this with outdoor visits when weather permits. In addition, we will be adding to how long the visit can last with a maximum of two visitors however, we must continue with by appointment visits only. If the resident is fully vaccinated, they can choose to have close contact or not with the wearing of a mask and proper hand hygiene. It is important that we continue to focus on the core principles of infection control practices. This is the main ingredient to our visiting practices. Without some structure it would compromise our COVID status. While certain factors will continue to have a bearing on the visitation status such as county positivity rates and facility outbreaks, we are all very excited to be able to provide more normalcy to the situation. God bless and stay safe.
