Staying Connected
During these difficult times when families are not allowed in person visits, it is essential that we do whatever we can to connect families with their loved ones. We were recently granted money through the State of Iowa Department of Health and Human Services to purchase devices and equipment to keep our residents/tenants connected to the outside world. We were able to purchase 6 of the newest versions of the I-pad, adaptors, stands and Bluetooth speakers. Since then, we have used these devices to livestream a concert that was outside of our building, back into the building where we had our residents spread out to view via livestream. We have coordinated Telehealth visits with their Medical providers. We also have residents/tenants that have scheduled video chats with their loved ones, or some families just give us a call and schedule when they know it will work for them. We know that not everyone is “technologically savvy”, but we will help you figure it out so that you can connect with your loved one. We have the capability to Zoom, Facetime, Facebook messenger, and Skype. It is amazing to see the looks on our Resident/Tenants smiles when they are able to see the faces of their loved ones.
