Assisted Living News

We celebrated assisted living week in September. ‘‘A Spark of Creativity’’ was the theme this year. We had fun sparking our creativity by different dressing themes each day. We had Western Day, Rainbow Day, Patriotic Day, Hawaiian Day and Pattern Day. We had great music, a painting demonstration by Mary Ann Gloe, Larry Reis talked about wild flowers, Tony led an emotional remembrance on 9/11. The folks also got to enjoy rainbow yogurt sundaes, root beer floats with BBQ chips and patriotic sundaes. We also enjoyed the Family Picnic with great food and The Buck Hollow Band. Cam Forde gave us a very enjoyable presentation on the Chicago World Fair in 1893 and a SHIIP representative gave us some valuable information on senior health insurance and Medicare part D coverage. We will be honoring our emergency management responders for national emergency preparedness month at our monthly breakfast September 27th.

Some other highlights for October are Mary Ann Gloe is coming back to lead an art class. We will have a CASE IH Tractor visit.  Happy Feet will come and work on tenants’ toes. We will be taking a Fall scenic drive to view the leaves. I have read middle October will be seeing some beautiful colors. Also, Larry Reis will be returning to talk to us about fall colors. I am working on other exciting activities and will end with the next monthly breakfast date which is October 25th. from 8:00 to 10:00. Also, want to mention we will not be doing monthly breakfast in November and December due to the busy holiday season. Our Christmas Party will be held on December 8th. I will have more information in the next newsletter.

Happy Fall to All!
