Activities:
In September we enjoyed a lot of music with Gary Froiland, Harold Peterson, Denny Halverson, Casey and the Good Time Band, Buck Hollow Band and Tim the Music man. The Buck Hollow Band performed at our family picnic which was held indoors due to the weather. We didn’t let the weather dampen our spirits and everyone had a good time eating, playing games and listening to great music.
A huge thank you to the Depot for their support this year to our music program. Everyone loves music and it is great to see feet tapping and people singing along!
Our bell choir started practicing new Christmas songs after taking a short break. We are always looking for volunteers to help with bell choir so if you have an interest and time please give me a call.
We harvested potatoes, carrots, tomatoes and kohlrabies from our garden. We also enjoyed looking at our butterfly flower garden and zinnias. It was fun to see residents eating a tomato as they walked by or picking a flower to take to their table.
We honored four very special ladies who are 100 years old or older on September 27 with a program. We listened to their life stories and learned what it was like 100 years ago. Each lady was presented with a framed picture of themsleves, a balloon and a coursage. Alice Lennon is a 104 years old, Carolyn Johnson, Marie Setter and Anna Iverson are 100 years old.
In October we will be having a program from Larry Reis and Dennis Carter both talking about fall and the changing leaves. Our St. Ben’s friends will be back and spend the morning with us on October 9, the Mennonite choir will be singing for us on October 18 and the men will be having a harvest coffee on October 24.
In September we recognized our Housekeeping Department and Rehab Department during their national week. The Housekeeping department works hard and keeps Wellington Place sparkling. The Rehab Department has a very important job in helping our residents maintain or improve their physical strength. In October we will recognize our Dietary department during their national week. The dietary department prepares great meals three times a day, seven days a week plus snacks two times a day. We really appreciate all the hard work and dedication our staff provides for our residents!
Enjoy fall and stop and see us sometime!!!
