On Valentine’s day we crowned King Zeno and Queen Dorothy at our party. They received flowers, candy and balloons. Their court included Doug, Carroll, Gary, Darvin, Gretta, Rose Ann, Genevieve and Virginia who received flowers as well.  We enjoyed eating Valentine cookies we had made in baking class, red punch and played games at our party.

We had a really fun Mardi Gras party with masks, decorations, eating King’s cake, music and games. The laughter was so loud in the activity room we had staff wanting to come and join the fun! I won’t say who was dancing on the tables and getting the most necklaces! Two local Girl Scout troops presented programs and sold cookies in the last month. The Activity department purchased cookies for the residents to enjoy during coffee talk.

The Tau Delta Gamma sorority volunteered to paint fingernails a day in February and the residents appreciated their energy and time.

Bowling was a big hit on March 3 with Rose Ann being the big winner.

March was National Social Worker month and Wednesday March 11 was National Registered Dietician day. We honored Amy Loera, Social Worker and Jackie Budweg, RD LD on our bulletin board. Thank you, Amy and Jackie, for all that you do for the residents and staff.

Due to the coronavirus recommendations our March and April activity calendars have been modified. We will not be having any groups or volunteers coming into the facility. We will be doing individual activities.  Stay turned to our website and Facebook for information.  As of now we will not be having our Easter Bell Choir Concert or volunteer appreciation in April.

In April we will honor Amy Medberry, our Administrative Professional, the Laundry department and Sandy, our hairstylist on their special days.
